Evansville Mayor Jonathon Weinzapfel has changed his 2008 decision to increase property taxes by $5.1 million by doing away with the Local Homestead Tax Credit. The decision comes after public outrage in the weeks since a secret meeting to increase taxes in 2008 was revealed. Buy the way you will be stuck with it till 2011 at least.
I do not believe that Weinzapfel has seen the error of his tax and spend ways; he is still trying to ram a stadium deal through that no one seems to want except for his lackeys on the City Council. The only reason he apologized was because it was the politically expedient thing to do.
Would like to add that I am really disappointed in the Republicans that toke part in this.
